Privacy policy
Draft. This describes what the app does today. It hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer yet and will be before Starpaper launches.
Starpaper needs your birth details to calculate your chart. That’s most of what we keep, and you can delete all of it from the app. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell data, and there are no analytics or tracking tools in the app.
Starpaper is made by Dracanus AI LLC (“we”).
What we keep
- About you: the name you give, your birth date, your birth time (or that you don’t know it), and your birthplace with its coordinates and time zone.
- About people you add: the same details for them, and how you’re related (romantic, friend, coworker or family).
- Settings: your house system and your phone’s time zone.
- Subscription status: whether you have Starpaper Full, when it renews or ends, and the purchase events Apple reports through RevenueCat. We never see your card or Apple ID.
- An anonymous account ID, created the first time you open the app. No email, phone number or password.
Where it lives
- On your phone, first. The app works from what’s stored there.
- A private backup on our server (hosted by Supabase), tied to your anonymous account ID. Only your account can read it.
- RevenueCat handles subscriptions. It receives your anonymous account ID and Apple’s purchase records.
- Open-Meteo answers the birthplace search. It receives the text you type into the search box and, like any website, your IP address. It doesn’t receive your name or birth details.
- Email: if you write to us, Zoho Mail stores your message and address so we can reply.
- Notifications, like the reminder before a free week ends, are scheduled on your phone. We don’t send them from a server.
What we use it for
Calculating your chart and the charts of people you add, showing you readings, keeping your subscription working, and restoring your data from the backup. Nothing else.
Deleting it
In the app: Me › Settings › Delete my data. This deletes your account and backup from our server first, then everything on your phone. If the server can’t be reached, nothing is deleted and the app tells you so. Deleting your data doesn’t cancel a subscription; do that in your iPhone’s Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
You can also email us to ask what we hold about you or to delete it.
Children
Starpaper isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly keep data about them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we keep or share, we’ll say so in the app before it takes effect.
